Eric Weinstock, DMD
Dr. Eric Weinstock earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2000. He earned his postgraduate Endodontics Certificate from the same institution. Prior to dental school, Dr. Weinstock received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
In addition to working in his private endodontics practice, Dr. Weinstock serves as a course director for the Ethics Professionalism and Law in Dentistry class at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Issues such as informed consent, patient autonomy, and ethical treatment are central themes of the course. Furthermore, Dr. Weinstock utilizes his background in the law to incorporate such concepts as standards of care, professional liability, and patient confidentiality into the course as well.
In addition to teaching at Tufts, Dr. Weinstock has published several works and frequently lectures on topics related to the convergence of dentistry, ethics, and law. During his dental training, he received a Certificate of Merit from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Student Achievement Award in Endodontics. Dr. Weinstock was also past President of the South Shore District Dental Society, and served as President of the Andrew-Bates Research Society.
Memberships in professional organizations provide Dr. Weinstock with the means to influence developments in his field, as well as a wider forum to improve patient care. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, American Association of Endodontics, South Shore Dental Society, and the American College of Legal Medicine.
Dr. Weinstock is proud of his work with the underserved. In 2010, Dr. Weinstock started the Annual Dental Care Drive, where he collects thousands of dental supplies from local dentists and distributes them to the underserved in the greater Boston area.
When Dr. Weinstock is not practicing endodontics, he enjoys tennis, basketball, running, reading, and most of all, spending quality time with his family. Dr. Weinstock is also an avid screenwriter of feature films. This past year, he had three of his films produced, the family film ARLO the Burping Pig, the gritty fight action drama Blood Circus and a thriller on the Lifetime Movie Channel called A Dangerous Date.
